This module allows the creation and specification of kit items directly from the sales order screen (SO301000).
Setup
In order to create new kit items, the system needs to know the item class to use for stocked and non-stocked kits. These settings can be found in the [Sales Order Preferences] screen (SO101000):
Specifying Kit Line Items
There is a new button available labeled “Kit Details” and a new column labeled “Kit Item?”:
The “Kit Item?” column will display whether or not the line item is a kit (stocked or non-stocked).
Clicking the “Kit Details” button will display the kit specification screen (IN209500):
Creating Kit Lines Items
There is a new button labeled “Create Kit” on the sales order screen (SO301000):
Clicking the “Create Kit” button will display a popup:
Kit Inventory Code: This field specifies the new kit item’s inventory code.
Kit Description: The new inventory item’s description.
Non-Stocked?: Specify if the new item should be stocked or not. If it is checked in the next field will become available.
Component Inventory ID: Non-stocked kit items cannot be added to a sales order without having a specification. This field provides the initial specification for the new kit (with quantity of 1) and can be expanded up after being added. Also note that non-stocked kits cannot have multiple revisions.
Example:
